TRAINING WORKSHOPS

Traditional timber framing workshop

During the week of 17 - 21 October 2011 saw another fantastic training workshop where 14 participants from all over Australia came to Carey Gully and learned the basics of traditional timber framing.  The training workshop was held in our Framing Hall in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.

Below are some photos that were taken during this week.  The week was packed with topics like history of timber framing overseas and in Australia, scribe rule explained, design and engineering for frames, timber selection, hands on tools and timber, raising techniques and the opportunity to talk to our experienced timber frames during a casual BBQ.

It all starts with just a few lines on some untouched timber.
